Year 9 Parents Consultation Evening

I am writing to extend a warm welcome to you to attend the Year 9 Parents Consultation Evening on Thursday, 25th February 2010 (the first Thursday after half term). The evening will be organised as a series of appointments which pupils will arrange with the staff who teach them, the earliest being at 5.00 p.m., the latest at 7.00 p.m. Pupils will be given cards in order that they can mark on there any appointments they have arranged with their teachers. Please can I ask you check that your child has arranged some appointments for you.

It is vitally important that parents meet the staff who teach their children, and are informed on the progress they are making, as we approach Year 9 GCSE Options Evening.

The Head of Year 9 and Deputy Head of Year, as well as other Senior Staff, will be on hand for discussions.

I do hope that you will be able to come along.

Voting for Bexley Youth Elections

At lunchtime, pupils will be eligible to vote for their chosen candidate in the Main Hall. Ballot boxes and papers will be available. This is a great opportunity for two of our pupils to represent the Borough in the decision making process.

Trading Challenge Roadshow

The Trading Challenge Roadshow will be in school working with Year 9 Yellow pupils during periods 1-4, in the Main Hall. The roadshow offers pupils the opportunity to put mathematical and enterprise skills into action through a simulation of real-life trading.

Active Citizen Project at Fossett Lodge

June 8th sees the start of the Active Citizenship Project at Fossett Lodge Retirement Home. The project will take place on Tuesday afternoons from 3.30 to 4.40pm over the next 7 weeks. Year 9 pupils will be taking part in discussions, games, gardening, collage making and various other activities in order to promote inter-generation understanding.

Bexley Schools' Bike Event

To support Erith's Healthy Schools standard, Mr Stopps (Head of Humanities) will be taking a group of Year 7 pupils along to Erith Sports Centre on Thursday 17 June, where the Bexley Schools' Bike Event is taking place.

Pupils will have the chance to take part in cycling related workshops and time trials against other schools.

Sellers book early to avoid disappointment as we have a limited number of selling pitches.
Pitches can be booked at the Squadron Mon or Thurs evenings between 8pm and 9pm, or you can call into Mr Computer on Bexley Road North Heath during normal opening times, or you can call 07877 810218.
